Setting up your TrustRegister

TrustCloud makes it effortless to set up a comprehensive and personalized Risk Register. Either by bringing in your own Risk Register or starting from scratch, you can set up your TrustRegister in a few simple steps.

  3. TrustRegister automatically adds risks to your risk register and maps them to your program controls.
  4. Go through each risk to make sure it is applicable to your organization, as not all risks are relevant to each organization.
  5. You can add new risks as needed.

Creating a new Risk Register

  1. Click on the “Create a new risk register” tile.
  2. Click on “Add New Risk.”
  3. You will be redirected to the Risk Detail page.
  4. Add the risk’s name and details.
  5. Identify the Inherent Risk, the Risk Action, and the Post-treatment Risk Assessment.
  6. Fill in all the information and click on the “Create Risk” button.
  7. Repeat steps 2–6 for each of your organization’s risks.

Ingest an existing Risk Register

  1. Navigate to the TrustRegister tile and click on the “Enter your Own Risk” section
  2. We currently support the upload of our current spreadsheet based risk register. If you have your own register, contact the support team to help you import it.
  3. A Couple of things to keep in mind while using standard risk register template:
    1. The Risk column is mandatory and the system will not import a spreadsheet without a filled out Risk column
    2. Except for the Risk column, we will have default values for other empty columns
    3. Columns we are not currently saving the information for:
      1. Any of the “computed” columns (Rating, Residual Risk, etc.) will automatically calculate when you add the pre and post treatment risk parameters
    4. Accepted Values (By Column):
      1. Risk Category
        1. Security Risk
        2. Vendor Risk
        3. Operational Risk
        4. Fraud Risk
        5. Financial Risk
      2. Treatment / Treatment
        1. Avoidance
        2. Remediation
        3. Transference
        4. Acceptance
        5. Mitigation
      3. Mitigating Controls
        1. These must be controls that exist in your TrustOps program
        2. Controls must have accurate control ID numbers
        3. Controls should be separated by commas to capture more than one control per risk
  4. Once you have uploaded your risk, you are ready to use TrustRegister.
    1. You can always add new risks or edit any of the existing ones by clicking on the row
