Treatment Plans and Tasks

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 313 views

Treatment plans and tasks are components that outline strategies and specific actions to address and manage identified risks. Together, treatment plans and tasks provide a structured and organized approach to managing risks within an organization. They help ensure that risk mitigation efforts are well-defined, assigned to responsible parties, and executed in a timely manner. Regular monitoring and review of treatment plans and tasks contribute to a dynamic and effective risk management process.

Once you have determined how the risk will be treated, it is key to divide the remaining work amongst your team so each person can do their part in reducing the risk. For example, the risk of a data breach can be reduced by buying a cyber insurance policy, which would be helpful should the risk materialize. TrustRegister provides you with an easy way to create and manage treatment plan tasks directly for each risk.

To add tasks to the treatment plan,

  1. Go to the “Action Plan” section and then to the “Treatment Plan Tasks” sub-section.
  2. Click on the “+” button in the top right-hand corner.

The following screenshot shows how to add a task to the treatment plan.

Add key task details like the task name, owner, group, any notes, and a due date. You can also link an external ticket from tools like JIRA or ServiceNow to track progress. To make budget conversations easier, we recommend you add details on how much budget you are requesting as well as how much budget is allocated, so the difference can be shown to leaders.

This task will now be visible within each risk as well as within the task page found in TrustOps. Similar to other tasks across the platform, you will receive reminders for this task via email or Slack. Click here to set up Slack or JIRA workflows for tasks. Once created, click on each row to open up the update window. Here, you will be able to change the status from ‘Open’ to ‘Resolved’ or ‘Dismissed’. Keep in mind that updating the status will cause this task to be updated across the platform, including connected tools like Slack or Jira. In addition, you can also communicate with your team by leaving comments to track approvals or manage change.

To make changes to the task,

  1. Click on the three dots in front of the task, and click on “Edit.”
  2. Make changes and click on “Update Task.”
